A flexible coupling is not permission to ignore alignment. Start with clean shaft and hub interfaces, verify the finished bores and keyways, and align the machines to the equipment maker’s requirements before the coupling is treated as complete.
Before assembly
| Item | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Confirm identity | Check model, bore and keyway against the order or equipment drawing. |
| Inspect shafts | Remove burrs and damage that could prevent correct seating. |
| Check axial position | Respect the required hub positions and inter-hub spacing for the selected model/drawing. |
| Align machinery | Use the appropriate alignment method for the machine train. |
| Guard the drive | Install the required rotating-equipment guard before operation. |
After first operation
Listen and inspect for new vibration, rubbing or movement. If a newly installed flexible element shows rapid damage, do not assume the element itself is defective; revisit alignment, duty and hub condition.
Request a Coupling Review
Send the shaft sizes, speed, duty and quantity. We will review the model and machining details before quotation.
