Pump Drives
NM couplings for motor-to-pump shaft connections, with focus on speed, shaft sizes and service duty.

Pump drives are one of the most common places to use an NM flexible coupling. The size should be selected from the actual motor and pump shafts and the operating duty, not from motor frame size alone.
What to include in the application RFQ
| Item | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Motor side | Power, speed, shaft diameter and keyway. |
| Pump side | Pump type, shaft diameter, keyway and available hub space. |
| Duty | Continuous or cyclic service, starts and any known shock loading. |
| Maintenance | Access for inspecting or replacing the rubber element. |
Where an NM coupling fits
An NM coupling is a practical choice when the required bore sizes fit the NM model range and the elastomeric layout suits the machine duty. For replacement pumps, measure both shafts even when the old coupling looks reusable.
Replacement and installation notes
For replacement work, include the existing coupling marking, photos and measurable hub dimensions. For new installations, provide the shaft drawing or actual shaft dimensions. Align the connected equipment to the machine manufacturer’s requirements before operation.
Request an NM Coupling Quote
Send the NM size if known, both shaft diameters, operating speed, driven equipment and quantity. Add a drawing or photos for replacement work.
