Cracking, missing material, severe hardening, deformation or repeated black debris around the coupling deserve investigation.<\/p>\n<h2>Inspect more than the element<\/h2>\n<p>A damaged element can be the symptom rather than the cause. Check hub teeth or driving faces, shaft fastening, alignment, bearing condition and any evidence of repeated overload.
